05/17/10 Iceland, Eyjafjallajökull
Found this BEAUTIFUL time lapse short from Sean Stiegemeier covering the Icelandic volcano eruption. I can’t even fathom how to pronounce the name of that thing. The wonderful overlay music is by Jónsi. Check out Sean’s Vimeo page and website for some more extremely superb film and photography.

Was at one of the best shows I’ve been to in awhile last night. Metavari was holding their vinyl release party in downtown Fort Wayne last night. They played alongside The Sight Below and Svarte Greiner. All three bands’ music is just great to relax to and let it simply take you over. If you get the chance to see any of these guys live, do it.
05/16/10 Pomplamoose
Odd name, beautiful music. Pomplamoose is made up of couple Nataly Dawn and Jack Conte. Her voice is incredibly soothing. Love the originality that comes out of every song. They’ve created some great videos of most of their covers showing Nataly’s different harmonizations simultaneously. Great stuff. Check out their website for more music and their YouTube for those good videos.
Mister Sandman was actually just used by Toyota in the most recent Avalon commercial.
05/14/10 Her Morning Elegance
An oldie but a goodie. Stumbled across this video the other day and just had to post it. Its pretty much perfect in every aspect. Music and direction by Oren Lavie.
Just found some incredibly blatant copies of the video done in Spain. Check them out here and here.

11/23/09 Ramona Falls “I Say Fever”
Absolutely stunning music video for Ramona Falls single “I Say Fever.” A wonderfully creepy mood is set to follow the great music. I’ve always been a big fan of woodcut style illustrations but to see them brought to life is something else. As of right now I’ve watched it probably ten times — maybe twenty by the end of the night. The animation is by the imaginative Stefan Nadelman.
Not only is the song great the but their energy and overall gorgeous sound continues through the entire album. There’s no doubt this will have a very well deserved spot on my “top 2009 albums” list.

11/13/09 Create Amazing is Right
I had seen this wonderful video a couple days ago but neglected to post anything about it. Upon revisiting the video — then on Vimeo — I found it had been deleted. Luckily, a kind person from Hungary has posted the video.
Tilt-shift techniques have been done quite a bit, however, I felt the execution, subject matter, editing, and music just made HP’s video stand above the rest. The great song used in the video, titled “Rescue Song”, was created by Mr. Little Jeans.
